How can we serve your ministry?
A History of Service
Christian Resource Management was established in 1973 by a group of ministry and entrepreneur men, led by Bill Butler, its first President. The same group had previously started Wycliffe Associates, to provide side by side support to the work of Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Throughout the years, CRM’s basic mission remains unchanged: to allow our ministry clients to focus on the achievement of their God given ministry and vision, by supporting them in administrative areas with quality, affordable and effective services.
In those early years, CRM provided “full-service agency” services to some of our early clients, which included Brother Andrew (Open Doors), Corrie ten Boom (Christians Inc) and Manuel Arenas (Totonac Bible Center.) Those services included not only accounting and donor management services, but also direct mail and marketing services, ministry leadership consulting services, and even television production and placement services.
In the early 1980s, CRM’s second President, John Donar, succeeded Bill and transitioned the company to its continued focus on providing quality and cost-effective accounting and donor management services to our “niche” of small and medium sized Christian nonprofit organizations. That service was provided on an “outsourced” basis and CRM’s use of a series of “rock solid” IBM midrange servers and systems.
In 1990, CRM’s third President, Craig Bryson, allowed John to move into his retirement years, and continued our quality services to more and more ministries. (Craig has been on staff since 1978! His first job was to keep track of the TV “Time Buys” for CRM’s “television” clients!) Over the years, CRM has served dozens and dozens of ministries. Those clients still include Bob Shank (Priority Living) and Gwynn Lewis (Sowers International.)
Then, in 2017, just when Craig was starting to wonder what was next for CRM, his son Drew Bryson started another retirement transition and became CRM’s fourth President. (Drew’s first job at CRM was as janitor!) Drew has moved into his new role with skill, wisdom, and vision. His energies have moved CRM into cloud-based accounting systems and processes, with remote servers and PC based technology.
And God has allowed us to serve even more clients under Drew’s leadership! Those clients include Tom Doyle (Uncharted Ministries), Larry Fowler (Legacy Coalition) and Steve Amerson (Amerson Ministries).
